Esteban Hernandez co-founded Measured Strategies in 2020 after twelve years of industry experience including tenures with Morgan Stanley and Scott & Stringfellow. He serves as a managing partner of Measured Strategies.

Acting on the conviction that he could better serve his clients by running his own practice, Esteban founded Avant-Garde Capital in 2017.  For the next several years he built a client-centric practice free from conflicts of interest and misaligned incentives.  With the aim of expanding the scope and reach of his practice, Esteban took on a partner and formed Measured Strategies: a no-commission independent advisory firm serving clients in all aspects of their financial lives.

Esteban has a passion for helping individuals and families to navigate the disciplined and ongoing process of wealth management.  Through focused listening and keen intuition, Esteban identifies a client’s tolerance for risk while capturing their short-term and long-term goals.  In addition to providing valuable insight on today’s ever-changing market, he creates investment plans and strategies that help clients preserve and grow capital according to their objectives.

Before beginning his career in the financial services industry, Esteban served in the United States Marine Corps and is a proud veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. The Marine Corps provided him the opportunity to strengthen his character and develop high degrees of discipline, dependability and integrity.  These qualities are foundational to the service he provides to his clients.

Esteban received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Interamerican University in 1998. In 2017, he completed a Master of Science in Finance degree from Florida Atlantic University, where he currently holds a faculty position teaching undergraduate finance courses.

Esteban resides in Boca Raton, Florida with his wife, Janice. The two are devoted parents to Gabriela, Evan, Gabriella, and Mia. In addition to education and empowering people to make informed investment decisions, Esteban has a passion for coaching youth basketball.

Casey Gunther co-founded Measured Strategies with his partner Esteban Hernandez in 2020.  Casey serves as a managing partner and Chief Compliance Officer of the firm.

In addition to providing clients with core investment management and financial planning services, Casey applies his tax experience and knowledge to the investment selection process to build portfolios that will optimize after-tax returns for each client’s specific case.  Casey also provides tax return preparation services for clients seeking to fully integrate tax efficiency into their overall financial strategy.

Before entering the financial services industry, Casey began his professional career as a tax accountant.  He spent over eight years in public accounting with firms Ernst & Young US LLP and Kaufman Rossin & Co. focusing primarily on investment partnership and individual taxation.

Casey received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from the University of Florida in 2008. In 2010, he received a Master of Accounting degree with a focus in taxation from Florida State University. Casey has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Florida since 2012.

Casey currently resides in Denver, Colorado.  He enjoys winter sports, the Rocky Mountain outdoors and spending time with his wife and two dachshunds.
